Many moons ago, Jody Carper was a rodeo competitor, traveling around the country for the sport. These days, he still travels for rodeo, but as one of the best announcers in the business! For several years, Jody has been the announcer for the Ute Mountain Roundup Rodeo, each June in Cortez – an event that featured him as a competitor, years ago when the rodeo was still held at the American Legion Grounds in Cortez. Jody talks with Kelly about the evolution of the sport, how it’s changed and how it’s remained true to its roots, and about what makes THIS rodeo and community so special!
