Spotlight on the 2024–2025 Season
This season presents three compelling pieces that span genres and generations. Audiences will find themselves swept into tales ranging from the drama of present-day high school halls to the depths of ancient mythology, each production bringing its own magic to the DHS stage.
Mean Girls (High School Edition)
November 1–16, 2024
Step into the halls of North Shore High School in this hilarious musical adaptation of the iconic 2004 film. When mathematical genius Cady Heron arrives from Africa, she finds herself thrust into the complex social dynamics of American high school life.
As she infiltrates the Plastics — the school’s most powerful clique — Cady learns valuable lessons about friendship, authenticity, and the true cost of popularity. This contemporary classic resonates with audiences through its sharp wit, catchy songs, and biting social satire, delivering a hilariously ruthless take on high school hierarchy.
The Little Prince
February 28–March 8, 2025
Venture into the cosmos with this dreamlike adaptation of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s beloved masterpiece. When a stranded aviator meets a mysterious young prince in the Sahara Desert, their unlikely friendship changes both of their lives forever.
Through the Little Prince’s tales of interplanetary travels, peculiar grown-ups, and profound encounters, audiences discover the gentle wisdom of childhood and the art of seeing with the heart. This production brings the book’s philosophical insights to life with imaginative staging and touching performances.
Hadestown: Teen Edition (Upperclassman Show)
April 10–19, 2025
Troupe 1096’s upperclassmen present this genre-defying musical that interweaves two mythic tales. Follow Orpheus’s descent into the industrial underworld to rescue his beloved Eurydice, while the volatile romance between Hades and Persephone unfolds above and below.
Set against a backdrop of American folk and New Orleans jazz influences, this Tony Award-winning musical explores timeless themes of love, trust, and the power of music in both the mortal and immortal realms.
