Honoring and Remembering New Mexico Veterans (HRVNM) is a nonprofit organization committed to honoring veterans laid to rest at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Each December, the organization places fresh evergreen wreaths of honor on the graves of veterans to recognize their service and sacrifice.
Founded in 2019 by Thomas Vialpando, a Santa Fe native, HRVNM began as a personal tribute to his father and other family members. Today, it has become New Mexico’s largest wreath-laying event.
The organization ensures that all donations remain in New Mexico and directly fund the wreath-laying program, maintaining full accountability and transparency for donors.
Mission
To pay tribute to every veteran at Santa Fe National Cemetery through annual wreath placements, engaging volunteers and the community in acts of remembrance and respect.
Programs & Services
- Wreath Sponsorship: Individuals, families, and organizations can sponsor tax-deductible wreaths of honor ($17 each) to remember veterans. Tax-deductible corporate and group sponsorship packages are also available.
- Volunteer Engagement: Volunteers participate in wreath escort, placement, and retrieval activities, helping to maintain the tradition. Students can receive documentation for service hours.

- Wreath Placement & Memorial Ceremony: Saturday, December 13, 2025, 10 a.m.

All events are held at Santa Fe National Cemetery and welcome community participation, including families and children.
